We waited on the beach for the ambulances in the end another guy called Eric, I think, again apologies if I have any names wrong. they used a windsurfing board as a stretcher and put me in the back of erics car taking me back to the car park, where the ambulance had finally arrived. And I was taken into the emergency department of the regional hospital.
im sure I'm not adequately doing justice to the actions of the people on the day, and I cannot express how grateful I am to everyone on that day for their actions and assistance.
I got flown down to Perth on rfds Thursday night and have had an operation in geraldton to clean the wound and an operation in Perth to insert a metal rod and get leg on the way to recovery. Not sure how long I will be down in Perth for probably a week, if any of the people who helped me or know of them read this, can you please let me know your contact details as I would love to catch up and thank you when I get back to town, I am truly amazed by the actions of friends and strangers, and very grateful for the assistance I received in a fairly nasty situation . feeling a lot of love for great people involved in a great sport. Thanks guys
