Now I'm not one to laugh at others misfortunes but holy s hit there was some crazy stuff happening yesterday.

Sun 2pm - 5pm.

Please learners.. Don't teach other learners how to launch at Pinnas. Especially when it's gusty, stormy and over 25 knots.

To the one guy who got absolutely destroyed when he was launched totally hot and ended up getting boosted pretty big then slamming the sandunes on his shoulder/side. Dude you looked like a rag doll getting thrown around. I'm sure you got at least 5 meters air mate. I really was worried for your safety. Hope you learned something from that lesson,was your kite ok as it just dissapeared over the back and into the trees.

No less that 5 people got punished yesterday. Kites in the dunes/trees from sketchy launches. Boosts to close to shore resulting in faceplants. If your gonna boost in shabby gusty weather then head out at least 200 meters. Or just don't go out if your unsure how dangerous the wind can be. Also people landing kites on top of others who are preparing to go out. WHY? Nobody likes to stop rigging up just so you can drop your kite over their lines. Look around and have some consideration for others.

I was the guy on the 8 m white/green/grey airush vapor. Yesterdays conditions were fun but not for learners.

Im a bit concernerd also for the amount of people kiting on the river yesterday in those conditions

Pretty freaking stoked to have finnaly gotten some sick boosts' in!!

I was out at Woodies from 9:30 to Noon. Pretty overpowered in the 10m by noon. The best wind of the day was the reward to the early risers. Started really early and was the only one on beach 2 so I had to self launch but managed it safely because I had practiced it over the winter.

Stopped in at Melville on the way home just in time to see a gnarly squall come through. Eveyone made it in safely to wait it out though. What was with people kiting and teaching inside the buoys at Melville in bang onshore, gusty conditions?

It sure was great at Pinnas on Sunday - in particular at 11:30am when I rocked up and nobody was out there (yet).

Pinnaroo is a friendly place with a great vibe. There are more female kiters at Pinnas than probably anywhere else. Possibly more noobs than anywhere else too!

The AKS season opener Pinnaparty will be on around the end of October so watch this space. If you have never been to a pinnaparty, it is a feast of excellent food catered by Todd and his catering company and sponsored by AKS. Who said you cant get something for nothing? We usually combine the Pinnaparty with a beach and surrounding areas cleanup earlier in the day, kiting in the arvie and food and fun at night.

There is always HEAPS of excellent gourmet food and all we ask is you bring your own drinks and a chair or blanket to sit on. Ladies or gents who are handy in the kitchen, we invite you to bring along a cake or dessert of your choice to share with everyone.

The Pinnaparty has a chilled out vibe, music, food, laughs and great friends all amping for the new season. Bring the kids and your partners, this event is G rated and is to promote a friendly community spirit at Pinnas.
