coming over to perth mid to late october from the uk,we will be in the rockingham area for a week, and a week up the coast near ocean reef.me and my son are compitent kite surfers but my daughter is only just up and running.
can anybody recomend some safe spots up and down the coast,and any sugestions on the wind we can expect.
we are all members of the BKSA and are covered by the PKSF inscurance(£5.000.000).
any info would be great.
also whats the water temp like that time of year

Hey

I live in Mullaloo the next suburb across from ocean reef and Mullaloo Beach is quite a good kitesurfing spot for the SW and the NW and about 1km from mullaloo south there is pinaroo point this is a popular spot and good for the same winds.

And i dont no what the temp of the water is but around that time you wouldnt need a wettie

we only get about 2 days a year with out a wettie,i would be nice to meet up, i have a couple of job interviews the first week, and it would be good to get the views of a few locals about life in wa

Life in WA/perth it rocks, freo doctor will fix your addiction nearly every arvo of summer

Hello kite kit,
A great spot in Rockingham is Penguin Island at Mersey Point.
Sam is spot on; Mullalloo and Pinnaroo Point are both good spots up Ocean Reef way.
You may still need a springsuit in October.
I think the water temperature is usually around 20 degrees Celsius by then. We usually get around 18-23 knots at that time of year although there are lighter and stronger days.
