Hey WA crew. I'm living in beautiful tasmania for almost three years now. Things changed, no more girlfriend, so now I feel like "moving".
When I travelled around oz 3 years ago, I really loved wa and tasmania.
I'm working in the hospitality, so getting a job shouldn't be the problem.
Where is the place to go??? Wind, waves, some flat water, a nice lifestyle. And still a bit happening, not too remote/quiet (yeah, tassie is remote, but hobart is fine).
Thanks for ur help wa crew
Ah, and I'm 30 if that matters

Kalgoorlie.
Loads of babes, plenty work, kicking night life and the classic Hyden point break.

Geraldton. Our season lasts a helluva lot longer than perths. We have more solid stable wind. No stupid crowds, car won't get breaking into. Heaps of lady Friends around for you to prowl.

arloj , car won't get breaking into.

So you would happily leave your car full of kit parked in Spalding overnight?
Good luck with that.

Down South. Augusta/Margaret River etc. Much cooler than Geraldton, but a lot more beautiful and tons more things to do. Big tourism industry too.

Thanks for your help guys.
So Geraldton is pretty much one of the windiest mainland places of australias westcoast?
Hoe is life down at margaret river? Lots to do, cafes, restaurants, hotels? Beautiful girls? (-:

Just stay away from the nightclub(s), I assume there is only one left now?

As you did when you were 18, used to hit the "ZOO" and 'THE NIGHTY" two terrific names for night clubs if I've ever heard of any!

I wen't back to Gero for a family shin dig last year, went into the "ZOO" paid like $10 bucks, had my photo taken (Security) -Instantly recognized 10 faces I hadn't seen in 11 years.

It quickly dawned on me that nothing had changed in these peoples live for the past decade...eat sleep get pissed repeat.

This made me sad.

Geraldton is a great town and I honestly think its a great place to live.
Just avoid the night scene (after 12) and the ICE.

If I lived in Tassie the last thing I would be considering is a move to WA. Don't get me wrong, Perth has been good to me and it's a great town, but Tasmania is one of the most beautiful and peaceful places I've ever been and I'm moving there as soon as I can afford to live mortgage free in Hobart.

Couldnt agree more. Lived in nearly every state and Tassie is the most beautiful. I dream of retiring to Tassie. They have trees. And hills.

But...stages of life.......

For sure if you're in your twenties WA would be better, if you get a job wages should be good. Lifestyle is chilled. Cost of living is much higher than Tassie though. Margaret River much nicer than Geraldton. Trees, wine, scenery superior, tourism industry. If you live and breathe to kite, Gero will win, but otherwise, Margaret River area.

Dont forget Albany. Oh wait... actually forget that.

Couldnt agree more, I've been around the country, and I really love Tasmania.
But, as you said, its like stages in life.
And right now, I feel like going somewhere else and explore.
As you say, Tasmania is beautiful and the right place to settle down. And btw, I've been in the water the last 4 days, kitesurfing, no wetsuit.

Loved Margaret River, and it might wrork better cause of the Tourism around that area. But I'm really keen to get wind (-:
