Hey guys
I'm at high school and in my engineering workshop we have a half-done land yacht hanging from the ceiling. I've talked to my teacher and he said it needs a front steering system. He has a sail but I haven't seen it yet. The students who started it have done the back wheels, main frame and seat. I haven't done land yachting before but it has always been something I want to try. Any suggestions on the front steering problem?

Hi Mayflowa17,

your high school - would it happen to be in the northern suburbs of Perth, on Mirrabooka drive?

I'm asking, as a mate of mine [now deceased] ran the school's engineering section - and one of the projects he tried to get up and running was the building of landyachts, using one of mine as a template.

If this is the school - your landyacht is a Lake Lefroy Mini.

oops........just noticed you are in New Zealand, not Perth! [the western island of NZ]

like Hiko said, when you get back to school - photos and dimensions will be a great help.
