Hi folks ,

I was at the World Championships in De Panne, fantastic event .

At the FISLY General Assembly and council meeting a miniyacht spec was agreed for the first time and is in the rules from 14th Oct 2010.

As anticipated it goes something like this -

Any fully assembled sandyacht whose wheel footprint fits inside a loop of rope 5.6m long , with a maximum wheel size of 800 x 400,(wheelbarrow style) , a tubular / circular mast and no wing sections is regarded as a miniyacht.

Also, there will be miniyachts included in the 2012 World Championships in France, start saving you guys , love to see you at that one.

Also , need your help to build a truly worldwide community of landsailors under one flag , building a FISLY community and recognisable brand - all ideas to FISLY via your country reps asap please.

Eh and also , I also seem to be new FISLY Vice president - hence the cry for help and rally the troops call !!!

That sounds great I imagine that wheel size means 4.00x8
There should be a lot of mini yachts that come within that rule
congrats on your new post Alan !

Thanks folks -

I think this is a great start- even Blokart and XSail also fit into this so they can join in the fun at the next worlds if they want -
So, 1 for all and all for 1 !

Go forth spread the FISLY word and multiply !!!

This I like. Mini(mum) rules. Only 2. No minimum boom/mast heights - no maximum sail areas - no minimum weights on front wheel - dont have to have straight knees to measure everything "a la promo" Yay! Go Mini's.
