Hi guys,

Im keen to get myself a land yacht but cant stretch for a Blokart, so Im looking at building my own. Only problem is that I live in a townhouse complex and cant start cutting and grinding in my garage due to the neighbours being right through the walls on both sides.

Does anybody know of a co-op type workshop in south Brisbane where you can hire tools and the space to work? Alternatively, is anybody thinking of selling a Lefroy or similar setup?

Cheers,
Dion

Like I told grlynch I'm on the south side of Brisbane and have some steel you can have. If you need ideas I have 3 LL mini's(I guess if I got rid of one I'd have a reason for another build I've been considering), old sails, wheels, forks, axles(turned and threaded). One suggestion regards a workshop is a Trades Guild I'm a member of- for about $20 a year you have access to casting facilities, lathes(mainly metal),milling machines, cutoff saws etc.
Another alternative www.seabreeze.com.au/Classifieds/Land%20Sailing/~r_7tn/2009-Miniyaht-Class-3.aspx?search=xH7WtBnqQCz660wJfSvQcQ%3d%3d if it's still available, you will find the build on this landyacht at www.seabreeze.com.au/forums/Land-Yacht-Sailing/Construction/Building-a-Landyacht-for-DesignandTech-Major-Work/

Would I be able to stop by some time and have a look at your LL minis to get a few ideas Ian (if not, thats cool)? Going by your post about riding on top of the water resivour I live only a few minutes away.

Ill hit up the recycling centre at the smart tip in the weekend and look for anything that might be usefull as well

I saw that build thred you mentioned on my lunch break but didnt have time for a good read through.
