Once you've made the seat are you able to remove it from the frame or is it on there forever?

re the brace, TP1 ripped his mast step almost off with a mondster sail/wind combo, The brace was the last thing standing.cos it took out a rear bending action , leaving only tears in the metal on the sides. his chassis now has a U strap under the mast step

I was going to make the seat removable, then thought I'd just build another yacht when i wanted something new. Even now I have ideas I'd put into another yacht, particularly as I made the current seat a little too wide (approx 550mm and I'd fit into 450 ). I have a fair bit of the galtube laying around too, and its easy to get locally if I didn't.

Was hoping to do more tonight but as its looking I wont finish work until late, hopefully something wont go right and I can get away early .

Looks like a very serious mini coming up there lachy. A bit of bog and fibre glass around that seat and it will take on a character all of it's own.

Very clever what you have done with the step in the seat base.

After Yeppoon Paul left me with one of his 4 sqm fertiliser bag sails as a pattern sail which works really well. I have had it measured by the local sail maker here and he has quoted around $600 to reproduce it in sail cloth material.

I need at least one more sail so if a couple more people need a sail also that price could be substantially reduced per sail maybe. He does have a stock of appropriate weight sail material in various colours that he would like to get rid of .

With "bog" I was just referring to any kind of filler used for rounding the corners etc.

I will ask the sail maker what it would cost for three identical sails. His quote for one was about $650.
