Land yacht Design Competition. 2

This is a design competition for a Class 6 land yacht.
It needs to be modern, futuristic, and creative.
I would expect it would be made from either Fibre Glass, Roto Moulded Plastic, or Stitch and glue plywood (similar construction to some sail boats) that might suit the DIY builders.
The design would basically be a monocoque construction a bit like modern cars with little or no chassis.
It would have very few metal parts and possibly no metal tubes at all.
It might even fit on top of a Lake Lefroy Mini or a Class 5 with modifications.
I don’t want a thing that looks like your grandma’s feather bed or a trampoline or even a kids Billy cart!!! It needs to look like a sports vehicle.
You don’t need to do drawings (if your not good at it) a good word description would suffice.
Don’t worry to much about the rig / sail setup as I currently have something in mind.

Now as an incentive I’m willing to do some negotiated lathe work, Mig welding etc. (or a set of steak knives…ha ha) for the design to be deemed the most viable.

Monocoque wood stitch and glue body with fibreglass /resin reinforcing on seams with simple external attachments for the front and rear assemblies. All components sized to fit 'inside' the seat as well as a beach umbrella, small esky and a small child. top speed of 81kph . fitted a 3 yr old or a 115kg maori( this may have been the reason for the materials delamination.
Sleek modern design, funky styling

Careful there Brian! Haven't jeqs students in Chile already done this????

The freight charges between Chile and Oz for the free welding and lathe work could be challenging!!!

Looks like my thoughts haven't sparked the imagination of budding designers....
Never mind, I'll pass the next design comp onto anyone that needs some design work done. cheers

We do have to keep prodding with a big stick to get them to think , dont we[}:)]
The best thing is that the first we hear of a new yacht is when they are painting it or sailing it
I do get a little buzz from that

I've been stuck in a bunker in Victoria for the last week testing our disaster recovery proceedures. Unfortunately this hasn't allowed any time for landyacht design, but I'll get onto it next week. ;)

Back again

A bit of both Im sure.

At present Im sidetracked with finishing my other uni work, and a pedal powered kayak design I handed my thesis in yesterday, 24 hours late Over a 9 month study though, thats a pretty small error. Cant quote an error of +/- 0.4% on anything I can build. My supervisor didn't quite agree with my logic

And sorry, dont think I can come up with anything for this comp. Too far out of my league, as in opposite end of the spectrum

Fibreglass????, NO metal!

yeah I've been really battling with that free CAD package to try and produce something recognisable. I'm starting to get the hang of it though.
