DOOMSDAY CHALLENGE

This challenge is to build and sail a landyacht at speed
by the 2012 doomsday sept 21 ….simplicity its self

design restrictions are

It must be a wheeled machine
Sail must be the motive power
There must be at least three wheels
Seat belts and hard hats must be used

Three weight categories, machine plus operators

500kg total weight exactly….expenditure $500 Australian or equivalent
750kg total weight exactly….expenditure $750 Australian or equivalent
1000kg total weight exactly….expenditure $1000 Australian or equivalent
Everyone has the same weight handicap, ballast top up to weight.

There are no build specs on length , width , height

There must be two GPS speed recorded runs over 300mtrs on the same day, all runs must be computer tracked, supporting photographs required.

The event must be held on flat ground or beach.

Sails may be commercially produced, by canvas goods manufacturer.

Everyone is welcome to have a go, most people world wide have access to a welder and a junkyard and a geeky mate who can do the gps thingy.
