Last year we had our sort of Italian Championship on one single venue with two Classes, FISLY Minis and Open (everything that doesn't fit 5.60 rule).

The Open Class, well... was too Open, no story for the winner with a Class 3 size yacht and a Seagull Standart sail with its wing mast. So there's a talk to put between Mini and Open a third Class. There's no way to weight the yachts in the playa, so everything that stands in a 8.50 meters rope is an option. 8.50 is due to the FISLY Promos dimensions (axle 2 meters, wheelbase 2.50) plus just a little tolerance.

Any suggest very welcome

If you keep it to the one rule of the rope then go for it!

What a FANTASTIC idea....... but don't call it the 'Open Class' because it isn't leave that title open for anything that doesn't fit into a recognised class,
call it 8.5m Class, FISLY 8.5, Veloce 8.5, Vento 8.5, Velocity 8.5 or something like that.

Love it!!!!!!

What a great idea. What you might call a "Development Class" for class 5 sized yachts.

You have the "FISLY 5.60 Mini Yacht" rule. Why not call it the "FISLY 8.50 Midi Yacht" rule.

This allows so much scope for design improvements and use of modern materials and will benefit the sport enormously.

DO IT PLEASE

Great idea. Makes a lot of cheap/easy stuff like surf masts etc legal, and no worries re:wheels and tires
