We picked up another batch of sails today from balcatta

1-niel pryde "world cup wave"
all battens are good,
area- 5.4m
luff- 4.75m
boom- 1.8m

2-niel pryde "warp speed 7"
no battens,
area- 7m
luff- 5.05m
boom- 2.2m

3-niel pryde "ultra nova 4.4"
all battens are good,
area- 4.4m
luff- 4.2m approx.
boom- 2m approx.

4-niel pryde (a bit tatty and has a repair below the foot batten)
no battens,
area-6m approx
luff-5.4m approx
boom 2 m approx

all were a bit grubby but I swept the garden rubbish and bugs off them and 3 of them look pretty good to me, and sail no.4 is probably able to be cannibalised for sail repairs.

all 4 are yours to play with- when are you in perth next?

If you are not in perth for a while- we might be able to bring them to Kal as luggage in a couple of weeks, but that depends on how much qantas allow us to carry.
I guess they will fold/roll up fairly compact for baggage if I take the battens out- and you could pick up the battens some other time?

the length of the battens are (sail no.1)bottom-108cm, 172cm, 137cm, top-93cm,
(sail no.3)bottom-148cm, 126cm, 90cm, top-56cm,

Blimey!!!!!!, Im only half way throught the last lot. The 4.4 would be a good one to work on next as I have got 3 big sails yet to sail,( too much wind or no wind) and its always good to have some stormy's made up ready. If you could bring that one it would be great , Im down in perth for a daughters audition in the , next couple of months. Is their anybody in perth lookin for a sail at the moment

no worries Paul- we will bring the 4.4 with us,

Do you have any hints on how to pack the sail so that the qantas baggage handlers dont wreck it?

I could stuff it into a rifle case- but that might create more problems than it solves

just roll it up tight , in its sailbag, and put a fragile sticker on, guarantee theyll crush it. If its a monofilm sail dont bring it, , if it rolls up bulky , you might get a person on the desk at pert that wants to charge you money , that will be more than the value of the sail
