Hi guys, I'm new here.. I have a Blokart with 2,3 & 4m blokart sails. In lite winds I've been utalising a 5.75m Tushingham storm windsurf sail which works OK.

My question is... Is there any point in parting with my hard earned cash & getting a Blokart 5.5m, will it be that much better than my 5.75 Tushingham?

I'm not racing at the moment so the one make thing is not an issue.

Hope someone can enlighten me!

Thanks

Jonboy

The tushingham will do you fine if you're not racing. And I'd save your cash on the blokart sail as Sail Register near S****horpe will do you a better sail cheaper if you need one. sailregister.co.uk/

What mast would I need with a sail register sail, my 5.75 is using a tush carbon, which is just about the same length as a blowy 4m

Just a thought!! Not really up on the science of sails but why is a blowy mast straight in comparison to a windsurf mast's curvyness

Both sailboard masts and blokart masts are straight... they flex when in use.
The curve in the front of the sail is there to create shape in the sail, without that shape sails don't work properly.

Because Paul Beckett (designer of the BK) spent a lot of time and effort with the mast manufacturers to get what he wanted to achieve, and they eventually came up with the mast he used. It's called design and evolution, rather than just grabbing what comes to hand. He always had mass production in mind and wanted consistency which he could keep a handle on.
