Hi there, I am a teacher in a country school, we have introduced an Outdoor Education unit to our curriculum.

Guess what the first project is ? "building land yachts", at this point I might just add I am a female teacher who had never even heard of a landsail, coming from Tassie I had never seen a salt lake either.

Well!!! we help, in the form of old or damaged sails and masts that we can attempt to recycle into a sail for our yachts. So please if you have some laying in the garage, think of us.

We are 6 hours away from Perth but can arrange pick up any donated materials. I will thank you all in advance for your generosity.

I'm of to practice my welding, (another burn another bandaid), cheers Lynda.

Hi lynda
There is a local land sailing club in Kambalda. If you contact crazey trav(travis bartlet in Kambalda) or land yacht(paul from kalgoolie) I am sure they will point you in the right direction.
Cheers

Vic, Lynda has already got going with our help. 1st trialyacht underway.
once the kids start building they are going to need some old masts and sails .
I will be doing the recutting. Any gear they can get their hands on now will make life easier . They are still searching for 4 more masts , and 5or 6 sails, even original type windsurfer sails.
Getting kids in the bush interested in sailing, rather than just makng dust on quads and motor bikes is a huge challenge, and I think Lynda will be up to it
