Just a bit of market reasearch. I have a landyacht that i would still love to rip around on but never have time to myself. Kids aren't interested so I can't use them as an excuse to get take it out. It's a shame to see it in the shed idle! Is it worth the cost of advertising as I am in Bunbury WA?

What type is it? Try contacting the guys at the Sandgropers Land Yacht Club, see if they know of anyone interested in buying one

Thanks for the response guys. That sounds promising. I will take some photos and advertise it on this site in the next couple of days. Briefly though its similar to a blokart, same steering set up, has a bench type seat so takes two (slim) people, has fronts brakes, and dis-assembles for transport (though it fits in the back of a wagon by just removing back axles).Runs on 12" bike wheels and has a windsurfer rig, 3.4 mtr3 cammed sail. Cheers

just found the photo. fascinating. the sizes and mast position look just right. i found that those 12" tyres tended to slide out too easily on salt but i reckon on bitumen it would fly. Who is the designer/builder.
Im impressed

Thanks Landyacht. Design came from looking at yachts on the net, particularly the blowcarts (steering). I built it about 2 years ago but family obligations and lack of areas to sail made me decide to sell it. I would love to try it on salt, only found out from this site this week about Walyungup and am considering trying to get there Sunday. I have used this yacht on pea gravel on a groin in Australind which was a bit hairy but it holds its course ok. Is salt slippery like gravel? You are right, it flys on biumen and footpaths! Also with a bench seat I can shift my weight to windward.

Should go ok at Baldivis. There is a couple of others with bike wheels that get along alright.

salt constantly varies. from rough slush to rollerskating smooth, and every thing inbetween.we had it so smooth one day this winter that the yacht just slid straight past the marks.
