Dear Seabreezers, I'm going to need your help on this one !

Each year myself and a bunch of 30 mates spend 4 days camping at the top end of Fraser Island on what we call our annual 'Adventurisation'. The event is contest between two team with points scored in categories of fishing, 4x4'ing, drinking and other 'adventurising' activities. The coveted prize each year worth 50 points towards your team score is 'Grand Adventuriser' for the the man who displays the most dedication towards the theme.

The first year's winner paddled a kayak into surf at night time to to drop a shark bait, that initiated the award.
The second year's winner rode arrived at camp on jetski which he had ridden 70 kilometers across open water.
The third year's winner rode a fat wheeled mountain bike 60 kilometers in soft sand swimming it across creeks in the middle of the night to get to camp,

So now we are prepping for the 4th annual trip in six months time and I really want to take out 'Grand Adventuriser'.
The plan is to Terrasail (land windsurf) 105 kilometers from the barge landing at Hook point to the camp site. There will be three traverses across rocky headlands where I will need to carry the gear. I will have about 6 hours of usable tide from 6am to midday with hard packed sand. The predominant wind in August is SE so I should be on a beam or broad reach the whole time.

Here's my problem.... I have never land sailed before (apart from a few hundred meters on a board loaned to me at Yeppoon about 15 years ago). I can windsurf well enough so I hoping the skills will translate.

So first question, is that distance in that amount of time remotely possible?

Many more questions to come but let's get the basics sorted first......

you will have to average a little over ten miles per hour. this isn't a problem if u spend the majority of your time sailing, but walking/ towing the rig will severely hurt your average if u have to do it for any considerable distance. I once ran a 50 kilometer foot race and finished in 6 hours, and I was close to the front of the pack. What will u do if there isn't enough wind that day? You may want to consider a land yacht with a seat. That may be more comfortable and also might be easier to strap gear to. of course that setup may also be a little heavier. traveling a large distance with only wind power will be impressive if you can pull it off but it sure won't be easy.
