I have a week off the second week of Oct. I think it would be fun to go somewhere and do some land yachting. Any suggestions? I would travel as far as Europe but I would obviously not be able to take my mini, so I would need to rent one. Does anyone know of any locations that might fit the bill? I only have from Oct. 5 to Oct. 14 and this includes travel time.

Yep Saby..... head out here to Ausie just to Kalgoorlie i am sure landyacht would lend you a cart to trip the light fantastic upon Lake Lefroy.
There are many more attractions for wordly travellers too in the area, nudge , nudge , wink , wink........It would be the most exclusive holiday in the world..................

A lot of the clubs along the coast of Europe do yacht hire...they even have their Land Sailing Clubs marked on their official (IGN) maps in France I'd also guess that Belgium will be the same. The way they are set up in France is amazing - I for one am envious

On Google Earth look at Farnborough Beach, Yeppoon, Queensland, Australia.

Perfect beach 30 klms long and near perfect wind angle with reliable afternoon onshore sea breeze.

If you are up for it Brian, I will supply road transport, an LLF Mini and two Blokarts.

Cheers Peter.

While I would love to go to Aus, i would spend four of my nine days in an airplane or airport. This tme I will have to stay a little closer. Thanks for the offer Peter. One day I will have to get down there.

Col, how would I go about contacting these clubs. I wii not be there for a weekend only midweek.

That's at Le Touquet which is a lovely place. There's the www.noroitclub.free.fr who had the worlds on their doorstep. But try this www.fisly.org/index.php?id=5 which will give you clubs for each country - ask one and if they don't do it, they'll point you at one that does!

That link stops at the acute accent. If you copy and paste it into the address bar it works fine. Fine looking machine and love the flying gear

Frogy - had to run back from Cherrieux to Calais for work. Otherwise I would have had a peek at a few of the places that are famous in the UK on the way back. Wanted to see Le Touquet, Deauville (Poirot!!!), still got to get to Le Mans - shame on me, but one day it'll happen

I kinda figured that and you would probably lose another day to jet lag, but the offer is open.

Saby, if you and yours fancy exploring the Irish Coastline there are mini yachts awaiting collection for a day or a week . Make sure that they stay outside the pubs as they have a habit of heading down the beach to the furthest one !
