First post, so here goes! Are there any land yachting groups in N.S.W.? Or lone sailors with a venue?

Only clubs sailing Blokarts that I've seen, unless they float-your-boat its time to go it on your own (as many of us do/have done).

Hi Lachlan 3556, thanks for the reply. I guessed that may be the case. Have you joined the national federation? I was considering joining for info. on events, contacts, etc. or is the Seabreeze Forum the way to go.

From my point of view, Seabreeze.com.au is the go-to spot for landsailing info and comrades. At the moment I see no reason to join the federation, landsailing is just for fun for me and I get info here for free. There have been a couple of NSW members here. Hopefully they might let you know where they are at some point. I run a group of Facebook called 'Network of Australian Isolated Land Sailors' and try to post up bits and pieces re. east coast events and general landsailing fun.

What part of NSW are you hailing from? Hopefully you have a suitable beach near you, best I have are sheep paddocks

G-Day Lachlan3556, home is about hour& a half North of Sydney, (Central Coast). Plenty of beaches, everything from nudie to fishing, to dogs of leesh, patrolled, etc. etc. All a bit soft & Steep, but I`m sure I`ll find somewhere.

Raises an interesting question though, ,apart from sand gropers and lake lefroy guys i wonder just how many "land yachters"are left out there these days,,maybe its time to look at pulling everyone together. . Just a thought.

Heading West, From NSW, need to be around Perth for another sporting event, 7th/ 14th of May. Is anyone likely to be sailing @ Kambalda early or late May? Would love to stickybeak & talk nonesense. ie. a BS session!

Hi, there are a loose but small group of us on Lake Macquarie chasing the wind. We're interested in attempting inland trips on a hybrid landyacht. Current build is a solar landyacht, which is nearly completed and will get a run next week on a friendly ultra light airfield in the Hunter Valley. We haven't built any llm's. Maybe one for Kingston next year.
As a place to sail on the Central Coast, I've often wondered about Stockton Beach but never got around to having a look. We have sailed at the car park at the old Catalina air base on lake Macquarie during week days, but risky as people drive in. Hope you find somewhere

Hi saltylips, thanks for the response. Glad I`m not the only silly bugger in NSW. I also follow NAILS. Think I know someone from Rathmines that knows of you! Hopefully catch up once I finally get sailing.

Thanks bryan! Are you still working? ie. do you sail week-ends? I could adjust our travel itinerary & hopefully meet. I`ve done a fair bit of sailing but never on wheels, much to learn.

Hi MG, weekends are free. I'll bung you in a yacht and we can go for a blast. We have some keen sailors on Lefroy.

G-day bryan, have tinkered with itinerary. Any chance you might be sailing Sun first of may??? or Sat. 30th. April !? We will be passing through on our way to Whiteman Park (Perth). A sail would be great! or maybe just stickybeak & tech-talk. Leaving home (with caravan) mid April. Only four thousand K`s to go!

Calendar is free at this stage, 6 weeks away. Any one's guess what the lake will be like and wind conditions then.
