hi all yeh i know it's still a long way off but i'll jog the memory every now and then,, don't forget for those not going to the west in January the Australia Day Bash, Kingston SE, South Australia) is going to be on from 20th January to 27th January 2014. I hope that most of the sailing will be done from Wednesday 22nd through to Sunday 26th, don't forget also that Kingston holds a free Australia Day BBQ breakfast on Australia Day morning in the township.

I hope that sailing will be on the clay pans but there is also the beach for those that want to give it a try....
I hope to have a few "racing events" over the weekend,, those being at the moment top speed for the week,,also I'm thinking an enduro, or maybe two enduros, a short course and a long course with the most laps completed in a set time, not sure what that time would be just yet,, also was thinking for those that want to try there could be something on the beach, say from the causeway to the granites and back in the shortest time...that one is up for debate... We hope to have a trophy or two just as a bit of fun for anyone that comes along and wants to try their luck in either the speed event or the enduro.

Don't forget that Kingston is a popular place at this time of year so if you're planning to stay at the caravan park then best book early,, I believe that we can stay out on the clay pans if we want the gentleman that owns the land is happy for anyone to do so as long as they remember that the surrounding land will be very dry so fire could be an issue and there are no showers or toilets out there either, I hope that we can make the Kingston aussie day bash an annual event as there are a lot of things to do in the area if anyone wants a break from sailing or if the wind gods don't play the game...SO DON'T FORGET KINGSTON AUSSIE DAY BASH 2014 BE THERE OR BE SQUARE

For those who have Facebook, see 'Dirt Boat Pilots' or 'Network of Australian Isolated Land Sailors' pages. Info will continue to be posted here on Seabreeze too obviously

Im already planning for it

I'll be camped out at the lake I think, so anyone wishing to leave their yachts set up may do so if they choose. That also means we should have some tarps set up to provide shade this time round, as well as an esky or two

Great stuff guys, hopefully I'll be able to make it down for a day or 2 as well. Hope you don't mind that I moved this to events & comps.

BeachBall, how far down the beach do you reckon could be sailed along the Coorong National park from Kingston? Looks ok from Google earth, is the sand hard and flat?
We're really looking forward to the Kingston bash, bringing three yachts and crew, including the beastie that did the birdsville track. Accomodation is booked from the 20th to 27th, we're ready to play.
