, expensive little beasties aren't they? So would one of these be used atop a normal fibreglass mast lower to have a stiffer top or would it be carbon fibre all the way?
Times have changed Cisco

It's carbon fibre all the way now, although the mast I linked to is 91% carbon, the rest is fibreglass. Normally the fibreglass goes on the outside so you get better impact resistance - 100% carbon masts are notorious for breaking.
Yep they're quite expensive, we try to justify it any way we can, but you get what you pay for. Those Ezzies are the ducks nuts, I've got two complete Ezzy masts (tops and bottoms), they take a beating and keep on ticking

The reason I thought it might be useful is that you might have a mast bottom section lying around waiting for a compatible top. Then by picking up the top you'd have a complete mast.
