Hi All
I am new to the forum and landyachting in general.
Whilst holidaying in Goolwa SA a couple of months back I saw a couple of land yachts sailing on the beach which looked like a heap of fun that the kids and I could enjoy and it has has had me intrigued me since.
I do not have any experience of any form of sailing so I have many questions.
To start with
Where can I buy a land yacht or how hard are they build?
What is the best size or type for a novice and Kids to learn to sail?
What venues can be used to sail on?
Any advice members can gie would be greatly apreciated
Thanks
Nikrum

Welcome to the Forum Donato,
Well you certainly got it in one, it is a wonderful Sport and pretty much Family Oriented. You can purchase BloKarts and they do have a good following but from my part I suggest you build and you get a cheaper machine and a bunch of extra fun for your $$$. Go to

www.seabreeze.com.au/forums/Land-Yacht-Sailing/Construction/Build-a-Landyacht-Lake-Lefroy-Mini-Yacht/

Your expertise will have to come into sourcing materials from Recycling Depots and Hardware supplies etc. There is so much help and expertise on this site that you could build a Fleet of different designs. While you are building you can look around for venues as well, Car Parks, Salt Flats, Beaches etc. If it is flat and hard (preferably) you can sail it.

I built from Scratch as one is inclined to, have a look at

www.seabreeze.com.au/forums/Land-Yacht-Sailing/Construction/Just-working-out-a-build/?page=1

That should keep you reading and give you some ideas and a bunch of answers from the Crew in general.
Get Building and enjoy,
Ron
