Your gps must have done a double take. The other figures look correct for a mini.
Anyway, here are a couple of recordings I have done in my class 5 with 4.0m sail.

I waded through waynes readings from this day. It was the standout reading for the day.but as its all basically a cntinuous plot , the gps had to get from the start of the run to the end, in 14 seconds, so I cant find fault in the readings.
salt condition on the day was amazing!

Seems like 62.5mph is being claimed for Blokart, pod and 2m sail
Red Lake Arizona March 26

http://www.classactionracing.com//articles/2009/ivanpah_2009.aspx#start
go to the link about pushing past 50 on the day1 report.

Also recorded on the NALSA cover page so it would appear to be recognized

If that was the big day on Ivanpah then the record he had to beat was arjays 104kph on the beach at Yepoon.

It does pay when you get a big speed to look at the track plot on our computer.
On a few f waynes plots we found stupidly high speeds for short bursts, but on the track plot they showed up as sudden course changes with a return that go straight upwind(ie impossible).
we'll have to see how the running and results of our GPS speed trials go in September.

Just a thought if people are going to record maxium speeds, PLEASE also record the wind speed, the sail size and what the ground surface was, and how soft / hard it is.....
This way we might end up with a good set "ideal" conditions to to do serious speed record attempts in the future.

May I also suggest the GPS units not be attached to the pilots arm as waving ones arm could produce an incorrect reading.

Some one from NALSA is trying to set up a speed record site for landyachts, for those interested now might be the time to jump onboard....

Also of interest might be this report from the recent land yacht championship in the US.

At Lake Lefroy we have been working on a set of ground rules, classes and a management system to use in September on Lake Lefroy. once the paper work weve come up with has been discussed and approved by the LLLSC committee( soon) we'll put it up or perusal. we have taken some of the Nalsa suggestions into account. The biggest thing is to have a practical system that can be workable with the minimum of officials/marshlls,standing around .
A portable GPS is one of the best things that could have happened in that circumstance
