Hi to all,

I was saddened to hear of the passing of Ross Gamlin.
Although I have been out of touch with our local landsailing for some time, I wish to express my sympathy & best wishes
To family & friends.

Ross did an amazing job of work with running races in the sport & helping pilots achieve their best, not letting his arthritis get the better of him.

Kindest Regards, Bill

Ross always seemed grumpy ,but in reality he was just looking at all the improperly tuned yachts.
he could get his hands on your yacht and tweek and tune till it was a rocket , then you just had to do as you were told and sail it properly
sad to see him go

Ross was one of the grumpies people I have ever met, yet I think it was all a front,,He had a wealth of knowledge on land sailing and truly loved the sport, A SAD LOSS INDEED,, I learnt in the short time that I knew him not to judge a book by it's cover, or a person by their outward persona....

In my first year of land yachting I spent many hours on the phone with Ross receiving his unique perspective on the history of land yachting in Australia. I'm sure he'll be sorely missed by the ALYC.
