Each Sept/Oct we have a long weekend in WA. this year the holiday falls on Mon 29th Sept. This long weekend is traditionally a huge camping/sailing fest at Lake Lefroy. Campers arrive in the lead up to the weekend and we sail, sail, sail until we drop.
The Lake Lefroy Land Sailing Club, usually supplies extra water and other facilities to make the stay at the Lake a great weekend.
Whilst no formal regatta is planned in 2008 we sometimes have scratch races if the wind is right and we feel inclined. More often than not it is purely social and we go off exploring the vast expanses of Lake Lefroy. Visiting the old clubhouse, Liela's Lagoon, Sammy's Island, the old salt works and if the weather is really good even perhaps Nobb's hill.
Yacht numbers varies from over 50 in 2005 to between 20 and 30 the last couple of years.
In the evening there is plenty of time for catching up with friends, meeting new people and generally who-harring along. The final evenings meal is usually a huge camp oven fest.
Who can come? Anyone with an interst in landsailing/blokarting.
So whilst you are busy planning your 2008 social calendar do not forget to lock in Lake Lefroy for the last weekend in Sept.
Anyone who wishes to fly in through Kalgoorlie, support and assistance can be catered for.
Further details will be posted closer to the time.
August and September are traditionally the best times of the year for good winds on Lake Lefroy with out the summers heat

I think it is safe to say the numbers will be headed back up again this year.
Just a hunch...
