Hi,
I just joined this site and am interested in building (or buying a surplus frame) for a Lake Lefroy Mini. I don't mind if it needs work
I have downloaded the plans and would like to have a look at a completed frame to clarify a couple of questions.
I am in my 70s and live in Whangamata, New Zealand and I am a member of MenzShed and a group involved in mentoring "difficult" boys at the local area school. We want to undertake a bigger project with the boys and building a Land Yacht might be worth trying as we have a great beach.
It seems Hiko and Clemco are the closest to me (1.5 hours away) but I cant find any formal club after discussing with Mrs Google.
Hiko (or anyone local) if you are planning a sail around Tauranga and I can come and have a look and maybe ask some questions that would be most appreciated..probably save me asking a whole host of questions on the forum. If there is a club in the area I'd make contact with them. Ohope is a bit far for me but the Tauranga trip is OK timewise.
Looking forward to this new challenge
Oh.....as well as involving the boys I want to build my OWN Land Yacht. I did have a 28' Yacht many years ago but sold it when "Er Indoors" confessed to hating sailing and convinced by that a 32' launch was better- even at 4 times the price!
Hi give me a call 07 5448082. Maybe we could meet up at Waihi beach at some time that suits
I have a couple of minis that you could play with

That's great Hiko,
I have to take my wife to Auckland for surgery this week but will ring you when I get back
I look forward to touching base.
