they all left town in the early 90's. their sail no's were all 100 series. used to sail on Lake finnis but the cocky closed the lake , and also a claypan near Roxby Downs called Red Lake?
I have very fond memories of sailing on Lake Finnis with the Woomera Land Yacht Club in the late 80's early 90's. Bob & Evelyn Dyer and Graham 'Fang' Nicholls alway made us feel very welcome.
We used to sail/race down to the fence line and back. Faze 5 brought his wooden chook yacht there one year which was lots of fun to sail.
The camping was primitive but always fun.
In Easter 88 we had an international flavour with Ingrid and Pascal visiting from Belgium. How do I remember this....I was on my honeymoon...yep on a salt lake in the desert.
Promo Girl...... you state...You were on your honeymoon in 88........ Where was the old Landyacht was that his version of a desert island.[}:)][}:)] Congratulations to all you older married peoples, within this forum.........Even I..We managed 29 years before the old 7 year itch struk, I was scratching like a mangy old dog . Now the most gratifying thing in life is arguing with my off sprung and perving on home build sail powered thimmnijiggs. Here's one I tried to download earlier My dear engineers have been slack and managed to do nothing for me for the last month. So they gathered at the workshop entrance and foreplayed with me about how they set it up. Told me to get my camera and get a shot..... which i did ...They reckon it will do me good for "the Lake Eyre trip"......... I really think that they were/are having a loan of me
