i can not believe the amount of crap, bull**** and name calling that surrounds land sailing in this state and i would assume in the rest of the country as well,,, i am rather new to land sailing but in my time in the sport i have seen as much name calling,, he said/she said,, political bullcrap that i want to see,,, I, wrongly i assumed that land sailing was suppose to be a fun thing to do, you know get out there and have a bit of fun,, i remember what fun is and it's certainly hasn't got much to do wth this sport at the moment, at least from my vantage point. Sure i know that there has to be some rules and stuff like that on both a state and national level, but holy hell batman, we're not playing for sheep stations here, or are we ? one would think so,,i feel like just getting rid of the land yacht and putting all this down to "just a bad dream" iI will of course continue to sail at different places around the state and anyone is welcome to join me on my sailing adventures but please leave any agendas home,

BB I think negativity exists in all walks of life and if we didnt come across it occasionally we wouldnt know what being positive was all about
We would have nothing to compare it with
Landyachting is fun or should be so we just need to turn away and get on with the fun side which the vast majority in this sport enjoy and leave the well poisoners to themselves

I reckon it's all about being competitive, like "I done better than you" or "I have the better Land Yacht then you". Once somebody says something like that to somebody else, that's when conflict can occur. It's all in human nature, I suppose.

S**T! I have to dip my oar in here, I am not defending this sort of stuff.I guess I'm lucky that I live in the Tasmanian NW. I will be able to sail the beaches freely and hopefully without interference as I have learned what Club Life can be.
Previously I was Keen Archer and a fairly reasonable Shot. When I first joined "The unnamed Club" It was a loose gathering of like minded folk enjoying the Sunday Shoot but as we started develop further and a lot more people took interest we had to become official. Bloody "Insurance" and ABN's. This is about when the Politics and jealousies started and after getting the whole thing working, which I do not mind saying I did a lot of the "Donkey" work. Attitudes soured me and broke my passion for the sport. Never again will I become a club man, should it eventuate that a club has form I will remain in the background as one of the Grey Unseen and do my own thing.
Being competitive and Slagging each others equipment is all in fun and should be taken as such. "I Slinga da S**t and I can tak'a as good as I give". If someone has managed to build a better "Mouse Trap" we all should be happy for them. Damn! If we take things too far we will Hot Have any Landyachts, Gizmo's or their ilk advising and being helpful. "Don't kill the Goose that lays the Golden Egg!"

I have never, in my 64 years, been in a work place or club or life where Politics hasn't been lurking in the background at least.

Look for me on a long lonely beach having a S**t load of fun and enjoying freedom.

Ron
