seems like the misfits have gone into winter hibernation early, well i know i have,, what with the weather turning and work increasing as so on haven't had much time to get out, anyway just letting everyone know I'm still trying to "push" land sailing out there,, I am trying to organise a trip to Kingston SE to sail long beach and the clay pans around the Australia Day weekend in 2013 with the kite buggy folks who have made it an annual event for them,,I know it's a fair way off just yet but if given enough notice people might like to make a bit of a holiday out of it, so the invitation is there if anyone's interested, PM me and I'll forward you the details of what I'm looking at doing

been a bit crook, had a bit of a heart turn again not long back then a very dear friend died of cancer at beginning of the month, kinda set me back a bit , but I'm still aroundyeh would like to but can't........saving all my holidays in the hope of going to the USA next year to the holy gale.....

How often is it sailed? or attended?,
I am planing a trip there later this year----All things being equal I will get there.

gilles is rarely used by anyone, maybe once or twice a year which is a pity because it's such a great place and surface to sail on but from Adelaide it's a fair drive just for a weekend, it's more of a 3 day prospect or longer and there's nothing there in the way of well anything so you have to bring everything with you,, but yeh it's a great place to sail just does'nt get sailed on very much and yeh november should be ok not to hot and the lake should be fairly dry,, I'm going to try to get up there for a few days sometime around then also, not sure of exact date yet but will be before xmas

Ron There was a group of us at the lake last Melbourne cup weekend and we clocked up over 330km of sailing in about 11 hrs total over 2 days and nights- we are in the early stages of planning to go again this year around melbourne cup and the weekend before it

yeh i might take a few days off and head up with you then,, will see how it pans out but definately sounds like a plan
