I heard that the national land sailing association was almost destroyed and that there's not really much of a national body at the moment, at the risk of incurring the wrath of certain people in this wide brown land of ours what if anything is stopping a national body from once again representing land sailing in Australia..I ask the question because I don't understand the issues, enlighten me

No we are NOT, We have a great state competition and I think we are now happy to stay that way. We have had nothing to do with the so called Australian association, we tried but you know the story Nitarchi(pity you would not let us Know who you are)

I had it explained to me some time ago yet it was after a few beers and the mind was a little fuzzy, from what I remember the body wasn't really helping the sailors of this country and in some respects was in fact holding them back. In house fighting and personal indifferences should really be put aside in an effort to promote and ensure the future of the sport in Australia(just my 2 cents), or who knows what the future may hold.
It would be nice if somebody more informed will help answer that question, yet I hope it doesn't start a flame war or even worse get skirted and ignored in the hope that it will just sort itself out.

From my prespective; with the low numbers of people landsailing, we are not really missing much from not having a National body. This said, its a pity something couldn't have been done to salvage the original association. Oh well, give it time and continue to do the inter-club thing, maybe something will grow from the ashes...

Just deleted a couple of posts, they added nothing to the discussion and only went to flame the topic (or in this case a specific forum member). No tact and lack of manners won't get you anywhere.

Usually I'd let it slide a bit but this is a sensitive topic, maybe to much for a mere web forum to handle. Please attempt to moderate comments to suit the audience (ie: the world landsailing community).

You could have posed the question to more encourage debate/dialog; you are still more than welcome to.

They rear there head again every now and again to see it they can stir up trouble, but to afraid to show there identity. Feel a bit sorry for them really it shows a weakness in character. I am not sure what there problem is but they have this idea in there heads that somehow seabrease is bad for land sailing but the only time that I can recall on here that there has been any conflict on here is when there small group initiates it. Pity a lot more of there energy is not been put into being constructive for the good of land sailing. After all this site is about sharing info and advice if asked for. Lets live in hope that there next comments are helpful and constructive.

Seabreeze is a forum! Your comment is like blaming the pub because you don't like the conversation held in the front bar.

Seabreeze is just a purveyor of landsailor's comments, of which you are one.

gotta say , David ,Ive tried to keep out of this silliness, but your arrogance stuns me.
my recollection of that particularly farcical. meeting was that David webster and david Rose asked that hillsy be Banned for life from ALSA, at which point I informed you that the meeting had just commenced, and simple things like a treasurers report hadn't yet been presented. the treasurer ,david rose then went on to present part of that report . the full report was never presented.
When general business came along David Webster again asked for a ban ,but when asked to produce any kind of written documentation, had nothing except the excuse that it was all filed at home in Queensland.. atwhich point websters request was thrown out.
sadly this was a last time we were able to have a ALSA meeting ,as all the fine work subsequently done by bazl and others to properly nationalize ALSA was undone by David Webster and david Rose when they dissolved the original SA registered ALSA . The funds from that organization have yet to be accounted for to the other people who were members of the organization.
that no further action was taken over this outcome comes down to the reality that it wouldnt be financially viable for any person or group to recover the Funds.
personally I feel that the events as they panned out would constitute Fraud, but being such a small organization , not worth following up.
But of course thats my opinion only.
I find your need to be an anonymous being that hangs around wanting to stir up trouble, even after all this time, truly stunning.
what a waste of time. other people have come to fill the gap left by your messing around, why not just let them get on with it.
youve got your money, and your little federation, either do something with it or pull your head in please

Go away Dave, I hear there is a little problem with your little outfit. Your threats by phone and email in the past were annoying but I thought you may have grow up a bit but maybe not, so you have come back on here to satisfy some perverse craving of yours. You had your win in destroying ALSA so why don't you concentrate on your almost defunct organisation .
