I would have to agree with you beachball, yes a fresh approach to the sport would be most welcomed, the current situation occurring in South Australia is far from satisfactory.

South Australia has possibly some of the most varied sailing sites around, from tidal beaches, salt lakes both large and small, metro sites and places for exploration trips. OK some require significant travel time to get there but they do exist.

I think the same could be said for most other states too, especially the bit about the travel!

agutfull.......Im not going to debate this topic on the forum as it has previously put everyone off side with each other which would be counter productive for a positive outcome in SA.

I would be more than happy to support/assist any positive change for the sport of Landsailing in SA.

edit. Seabreeze Forum is viewed by many on a international level lets not do ourselves the disservice by discussing local club politics.

I agree that we do not need to debate past issues, but I think it would be great to see a resurgence of a land sailing club that wants to focus on what is best for promotion of land sailing whether that is a current or a new club.
It would be great to see clubs being formed in all states and all those clubs accept all classes into there clubs, only then can we get a truly national sailing events going
Cheers

guys, this is one reason why i'm loath to use this site for such ideas, it can not and will not do the sport of land sailing any good to drag personal issues through the mud, i put forward the idea of a new club, a club that would be as much into the "social and fun" aspect of sailing as it would be racing,, i have come from a form of motor sport "off road racing" where the club was "win at all cost" not my cup of tea anymore and i think if the sport of land sailing is to grow and not die then a fun and social aspect needs to be introduced into whatever clubs there are either new or old,,we all have "issues" with people bot good and bad but again it can't do any good to air such issues on such a public forum such as this,, the past is past, lets look to the future of our chosen sport/ hobby whatever you want to call it,,it's a fun thing to do, this land sailing, why make it so serious and complicated than it needs to be, i'm sure there's room for everyone,, i would like to see a club that has a "run what you brung" attitude to sailing as well as the more formal classes, after all isn't the fact that we want to get out there and have fun sailing that is the most important part of all,,, if you're into bitch fighting, name calling and back stabbing then i don't thik the sport needs that sort of people,,,holy crap batman this is suppose to be fun..

ok I think I'll lock this thread now. Beachball has got the message out there and I think the support for the idea is evident by the thumbs up and encouraging replies.
