Nikrum said...There is the problem with Advertizing Agency's, they want you to pay for their footage then they will make the user pay at the other end and generally for something that is Spun Up so fast that you get dizzy watching it. They want everything for free so they can make Squillions out of it. 'tis a great pity we have to do it that way. It would be far nicer if we could get
Someone like the ABC to do a couple of short programs on our sport.
I only rarely watch Commercial Tele and my favorite (Like Many) button is MUTE.

the agencies that are filming for a product are always reliable payers. I tell them up front what I charge , what it costs for gear like bog mats ,recovery gear , water trailersetc . they even pay for that initialrun out to the lake. I Charge an hourly rate or a daily rate. .
the tourism things are usually very low budget, and we are happy to volunteer, but there has to be some flexibity.
I managed to get the ABC news to come out a few years ago to interview Richard Jenkins and his first Windjet, but Richard changed his mind , wouldnt give an interview, and asked that the yacht not be filmed, as it was a prototype.
havent been able to get them to come out since.
your regional TV , newspaper and radio people are usually screaming out for material , but you need to provide photos, copy . in which case you'll get all the coverage you want,it is still a visually great thing to see and do.
you just need to get on and do it.
even things like Youtube videos can be a great advert, but please try to do some editing and keep them short, put in some credits with web adresses or contact details for you club.
on a more serious note, Steve!!!!! Ive completely run out of sails!!!!!!!!!!. need sails, need sails[}:)]
