Looking back at your drawings of rear wheel alignment you say you use slotted holes to prevent movement instead of relying on the bolt ends for clamping. if the bolts go into slotted hole in the internal shaft how do they clamp,what do the bolts touch to hold the shaft. I can't get my head into how it all holds tight if the end of the bolts enter a slotted hole,is it that the slot is only half way through the shaft,if so does that not weaken the shaft at that point.i like the idea of your design to line up axle and shaft centre line and may make up same system because my Y frame will go (slightly) out of line after a pot hole hit,but over tightening the bolts causes damage to the ally on the axle,so unable to really pull the bolts in tightly

Not sure what you are referring to or which drawing. Can you post it up and hopefully it will jog my memory.

Right I actually only did part of what was shown there in the sketch
But I did use the slightly slotted holes to finalise the settings and then pinned the assembly when all was set
For quite a while I ran with just the clamping effect and they did not move. The pins were mainly to allow disassembly and reassembly without having to realign everything
I used a laser pointer mounted in a wooden u shaped holder that squeezed over the the tyre to set them up for camber and parallel etc
