ok here's something i was thinking about while watching a tv show about the land speed records speed week at bonneville,,if they can hold records for cars and such, why can't we do something simillar for land yachts,, yes i know about green bird and the world speed record, but why not have a "speed week" for land yachts, have record attempts for different classes etc, or does this sort of thing already exist somewhere in the world of land sailing, certainly haven't seen anything like that here in this country or is it just hiding somewhere that i haven't looked yet just a thought

Australia seems big enough for two of these events. Maybe the second event at a location closer to the Easterners

I'd vote for Kingston, but only because its closer and I'm more likely to 'sell' the trip to the better half as there are other things to do there. Also, the other wind users may add to the atmosphere of the event. I've never been to either venue

Hmmmm. Lefroy in September and then Gillies, Kingston and other spots on the way home in November.

Then there is blokart Speed Week at Sandy Cape/Point a bit earlier or later that time of year too isn't there??
