That must be an old ad Cisco. She does not look like that now. I can see her from my place and go past here all the time on the way to my mooring. That 180 grand paint job is long gone! Now owned by an ex pusser "birdie" who bought her off eBay. Well built but if your interested in steel yachts is a prime example on how you need to keep on top of maintenance.
I passed Mobi this morning on my way offshore. This is the good side. Other side some of that expensive bog has fallen out and there is extensive rust. Lots of rust around the gunwales but not a difficult job. Still a well built steel yacht and a hell of a lot of boat for 5 grand. Inside is supposed to be very good, I have not been inside.

Mobi for $5k?? The ad said $22k. She has to be a great buy at $5k for someone with too much time on their hands.
There was another ex Pusser up here that bought one of the Attack Class boats because he had served on it. What a fiasco that was.
The current fiasco here is Tobruk. It was 12 months in the port being prepared to be sunk in Hervey Bay as a mega dive destination and bound to be the economic saviour of the region.
So they took her out, pulled the plugs and she duly sank and then lay over on her side. Shock horror!!!
The government has yet to make a decision on what the next move is.

Well you know what they say about "birdies", "bubbleys" and "bandys".

Mobi has been here about 18 months. Jonathon sold her on eBay for 5 grand. Couple of weeks later she turned up here on the courtesy mooring after being towed in by the rescue association with a torn mainsail and a failed engine. Out stayed her welcome on the courtesy mooring by a few months till a new mooring was installed nearby. Caused that much of a problem with the courtesy mooring the rescue association removed the two they owned here. Now we have MSB 24 hour moorings instead. Surprised to see she is for sale.
The other yachties ex navy here are all "Birdies"
Hi Ramona,
Where abouts are the 24hr moorings ? I have to move Magic Carpet on saturday to have the mooring serviced and I want to give a bit of a clean. Condition is a bit embarrassing but being time poor has lead to a lot of growth. Also we are not all birdies, I am an ex greeny.
Over the last decade Jonathan really has become the bottom feeder of the boat broking world.
Have seen more and more absolute ****ters being advertised by him with misleading and erroneous descriptions and inventory listings.

I bought my yacht off Jonathon. Mate bought his alloy Cole 42 off of him as well. I have found him to be particularly honest.

It is about 30 metres to the East of your mooring! I can give you a hand with a cold move if you like! Nice lot of Cungevoi on the bottom. Run a line out and do some fishing while you clean. Being an ex greenie you will probably spending the time on your bunk. I'm an ex dibdab that changed over to aircrew.

Hi Ramona, Thanks for the info. I am not sure what time the contractor will be on site for me to move but I was planning on giving the engine a run underload as well. With the growth load shouldn't be a problem. Biggest problem is trying to get a pole long enough and the right shape so I can clean it from my bunk !

I was reminded this morning that there is a cabin cruiser on the 24 hour courtesy mooring, been there a couple of months! I go past it a couple of times a week, shows how observant I am. There is a commercial mooring just to the North of it or you could wander down near me and used one there. I will be out and about do odd jobs.
Get a love note from the MSB re cungevoi? Couple of others have.
Yep. Short sharp letter about growth. I will be on the boat while the mooring is done so I'll pick up any free mooring and move if the owner turns up. Shouldn't be a problem I hope. Hope to see you around, maybe catch up for a brew.
Wow, they are getting strict if they're worrying about growth on a shiny looking boat like yours. I was down at Batemans on the weekend and it seems that the mooring minders there haven't been given any marching orders.

Not his shiny new boat. This is a long "bubble" cabin Swanson 32 that happens to be for sale. The local MSB officer is just trying to keep the local yachts tidy. 3 have got notices because of the cungevoi on their bottoms. We are fortunate to have a really nice bloke as our MSB officer.
