Hi Guys,
We have a 31ftr, heading cruising for 1-2weeks over Christmas. We've done some short trips to Kangaroo Island North Coast and Yorkes (From CYC- Port Adelaide) but don't have a huge amount of experience, so not keen for too much open ocean stuff like Lincoln or Robe or anything.3
Looking for some location recomendations!?
We're going to be doing some Kiting on the trip, so really looking for somewhere we can get some onshore or cross shore breezes.. as well as being able to get a sheltered anchorage.
Also keen to do some fishing!
Cheers All!

Stansbury & Edithburg - good anchorage and not too far
Wallaroo - means going around the bottom on Yorkes but thats not too bad, just pick your weather.
Whyalla - same as above but other side of the Gulf. Fair few kiters here that sail in false Bay or at the town beach near the marina
Cowell - little bit further down Eyre Peninsula - just depends on the draught of your boat whether you will get into and around Franklin Harbour.
Sir Joseph banks group. - Awesome islands with shelter in most wind directions. Great fishing, just don't get in the water. Bits of JAWS was filmed here
Port Lincoln and throughout Boston Bay - check out Spalding Cove.

Cheers for the advice mate!
I think the North coast of K.I. is going to be the go! Maybe coming back home up the other side of the gulf, I guess will just have to see what the wind is like at the time.
Have you ever moored at pondi?

No but I have surfed there a lot. There are plenty of boats moored there (fishing fleet) and its protected in all directions. I am keen to go there but I only have a little boat. Great spot but the surf break gets crowded in summer or school holidays. Marion Bay Tavern rocks.
Check out the cruising helmsman from about 2 months ago as there is a write up on north coast of KI.
