Anarchy
an-ar-chy

noun

a state of disorder due to absence or nonrecognition of authority

Sailing Anarchy this forum is not. It has been an interesting 2 weeks on this forum with quiet a few new members (all being welcomed) with strong views. Many seem to have the experience to back that up and have contributed in a positive way. I hope they continue to do so.

But HG ol' mate, you drove that WhiteShark fella over the edge and hopefully he has gone for good (I did grab a copy of his reply to you before the post disappeared from the forum).

A few other posters of late have commented on their disappointment of various topics and comments. You may feel that on occasions topics become political and borderline obscene, racist, defamatory, chauvinist, discriminatory and so on. I personally do not feel that line had been crossed. The rules of posting had not violated.

If a comment has just simply pissed you off, close that thread and move to the next one. If you strongly feel that you have to reply, have a look at the posting guidelines (button at the top of the page), grab a brew and have a think before you post. Many comments are simply uneducated or ignorant but well meaning. I think most of us here are more then happy to be educated, in fact thats is why many of us are here.

Seabreeze is a very relaxed forum in terms of being about to express yourself, but it does have standards. It is up to us to keep it that way.

Rant over

If you want to play up a weight division head over the Anarchy where there very nice people like Bullgator, Lesbian Robot and Lifebuoy 15 and their sock puppets for you to play with.
Lets keep this educational.
Mind you the Cruising Anarchy forum where the lovely Bob Perry holds court is well worth a visit.

That was kind of my point. Most of us here know about the other forums. Some of us here even participate on those forums. But we ALL come here to Seabreeze to participate in what Seabreeze has to offer as a forum. We do not need to make this another Sea Anarchy.

If you want to be political, controversial or just plain antagonistic Seabreeze has a place for that in Heavy Weather.

(Not directed at you Lydia)

I found it easier to just ignore his posts and look at other threads.

I guess it's easy to offend anyone just by being yourself and using language freely as you do in real life.

But when you go out of your way too be nasty. Well that's crossing a line. Basically I might not agree with what you have to say....but I'll defend your right to say it.

TopH, if you saw how that new member refers to this Forum on Sailing Anarchy, you may not have bothered with your little disclaimer in brackets at the end.

For my two bobs worth, I've had a look at SA. I made an account even. I would not dare post anything though, for being shot down in flames for...whatever...and being told to 'show us yer tits'. The whole tone is ego and testosterone on steroids coupled with the very worst of manners. I wouldn't urinate on it, if it were on fire!!! The obnoxious side of the sailing fraternity. I've read a few threads. Gung-ho aggressive yachty boy ramblings, no reason, no information.

Seabreeze Sailing Forum is a world away - thankfully - from SA. I've heard it referred to as the 'Gentleman's Forum' and I think this is a lovely observation, juxtaposed against that other one which is offensive and completely uninformative 99% of the time.

For those who don't like it here and hold SA in the highest regard, no-one here at Seabreeze is holding a gun to your head to 1) stay; nor 2) morph SB into another SA.

My only complaint here is the use of the archaic and offensive word 'spastic' which seemed to slip under the radar in a recent thread. I'm appalled that I seem to be the only person here who takes umbrage at this disgraceful term being bandied around.

Honestly, don't poke the bear at the moment. She ain't happy!!!

Cisco would've had to give up sailing for life while he tried to correct the gramma and punctuation in just a few short posts

WhiteShark in his short time here had a few posts deleted for various reasons. He chose to leave due to a post being 'moderated' that McNaughty took offence to, but chose to come back for one last insulting stab at HG and the mods this morning. I say that would've been the last straw.

Some Greats Whites do indeed get culled.

My sincere apologies.

Its a word ( among many that are offensive) my partner and I use in every day conversation between ourselves.

I understand its upset you and can even understand why. But it wasn't used in a evil context.

Regardless. ..we both apologize and it will not only never be used on here again by myself but it's also bar from our day to day life.

again. ...sincere apologies for offending you.

It was never my intention

I just wrote some dribble sorry if I offended anyone but he appeared to be on the way out of seabreeze before my comment .
I didn't feel he or what ever the shark was contributed to the forum from his rambling I somehow felt he was under the influence of some substance or liquid or needed help from his delusions
