Does anyone have a comment on Altex Vivid? They claim it will last for 24 months but we got slime after a month affecting the boats performance, after 9 months cleaning there was hardly any antifoul left. Another boat in our bay has had the same experience.

We use Altex Vivid and put on 2 coats every annual slipping. We dive and light scrub every 2 weeks to keep the slime away and to keep yacht racing speed up - and that works ok. As you say at the end of the season some of the 2 coats are worn away. Which can be viewed as a benefit in saving the constant build up of old coats as per hard afouling types. Agree this is a mute point. Based on experience with it and Altex no5 and VC Offshore - no5 gives similar performance but VC is a lot worse - it seems to be more a racing finish than an antifouling. Be interested in others experiences including if the Micron Extra 2 is better that the 2 Altex types above? I see Micron Extra 2 reckon 2 seasons life from 3-4 coats. How many coats does Altex indicate for 2 years? Who has time to slip for 3-4 coats? Depends on drying weather obviously.........

I was using Micron 66 and had a good run with it but it's no longer available. So now I have gone to Micron AP, has been on for 3 months now, so far so good with no growth or slime with the boat sitting in 26 to 30 deg water. Only time will tell.

Micron extra 2 on mine and had 3 coats. I do my own soft wipe overs once a month and have 3 dinner plate sized area amidship and above rudder where it's just getting down to undercoat. Was slipped and antifouled in Tassie March 2019 and spent most it's life in Cronulla area. Coming out March / April.

I use Altex No 5 and I use a roller to apply.

If you look at the specs you will see that with a roller you need to put on 3 coats minimum with No5.
Suggest you check the specs for Vivid, you may not have been putting enough on!
