Back in July I pulled my Tophat out and re antifouled, etc. I just hate painting - started with a roller, but went back to a brush as roller just dried out too quickly. A bit slow but only 25 ft LOA so a good job was eventually done.

Can anti-fouling paint be applied by spray? Air or airless? I can't recall any such comments on the tin.

I used Micron Extra, same as previous owner, as after two years the bottom was still reasonably clean, but getting very thin. I am in the Queenscliff (Vic) marina, so it's cool water refreshed twice daily from Bass Strait.

Yes it can, but I have never found a yard that will let you do it. Most will require a professional sprayer.

Airless gun is the best way of applying antifoul by far. The problem is the irritating noise they make and most slipways ban their use. Used to paint my fishing vessel with one. 40 foot boat takes about 10 minutes. Deckhands used to make rapid refills for me refilling the pot. Charter boat operator here with 3 boats had an engine driven unit with a hose to a drum which is what most commercial boat painting companies use. ONE local complained about the noise and the council banned their use! 10 minutes of noise every now and then!

the good old brush is the best way to apply any paint. No other methid will make it stick better, unless you have a steel/metal boat and you could use conductivity. Experience of 50 years painting various things trying every method, for me the brush comes off on top.
I get that you hate painting it, but you only do it once a year or two, Get a few beers and take breaks.

if you read the data sheets for all antifouls preferred method of application is airless spray this gives a more even film build with less waste our yard has a flat rate charge for application other yards charge differently 95 % of my customers choose to spray
if where you are slipping don't provide this service you can purchase small airless sprayers which can be used these will require the paint to be thinned so as to go through the gun check data sheets for allowable thinning rates some yards may require you to tarp up before spraying though if applied by a capable tradesman overspray should be negligible
