Anyone know of a web site or other resource where you can look up the current light flashing spec for a given lighthouse or other major Australian navigation beacon?
Might be rare, but the flashing sequence of beacons are sometimes changed. So if you want to check what the latest spec for a beacon/lighthouse is, or even just check whether it is the same as it was five years ago, I assume there is a better way than trawling through years of Notices to Mariners ?

The 'better way' if the charts in use havn't been updated with the notice to mariners is to check the Admiralty List of Lights (ALL).
Unfortunately they suffer the same problem - they need to be updated through Notice to Mariners.
What I would do is grab the chart number in question, go to the hydro site and you can bring up a list of all notice to Mariners affecting that chart. That would be quicker than checking every notice.
On a seperate note to help keep your folios up to date the hydro office has a service called enotices. When you sign up you pick which charts you have, then every fortnight they send you an email with the updates for those charts only - saves running through the whole thing every fortnight.
