Hi all
I have a Lecomble and Schmitt hydraulic pump and cylinder on my autopilot. The cylinder has recently developed a leak so have purchased a service kit (bunch of o-rings) and looking for advice on doing it myself. Anyone attempted this? is it more fiddly/difficult than one might assume? Any tricks to it? Google turned up nada in terms of pulling the thing apart and replacing the seals and L&S don't seem to like giving away much info.

Otherwise has anyone used an expert in Sydney they can recommend to send it to?

Cylinder model is 40ST16 DEBP 12V Smilar to the one shown below.

Cheers

Nothing much to it. If the threads are free it's just a matter of pulling it apart and replacing the o ring. If it's the same as a Hydrive the kit will have a heap of o rings but the ram will probably only need one or two of them. They use straight industrial o rings that would probably cost 10 to 20 cents from an engineering firm.

Thanks Ramona for the input. Yes the kit came with way more o-rings than could possibly fit inside so I'm guessing it's just a matter of choosing the one that fits best. I'll give it a go and see how easily it comes apart.

Cheers
