My flexible diesel fuel hose (rubber) has started to crack. All three sections are cracking (tank to fuel filter, fuel filter to engine lift pump, return line from injectors to tank). It is stamped as diesel fuel line, is only 6 years old and has been well treated so I'm a bit disappointed that it has perished after a short time. Am I expecting too much?
Can any one recommend a particular brand or supplier of fuel hose that would last longer?

I'm told that you should get hose for diesel fuel NOT petrol.

Apparently petrol fuel hose is OK but only for a few months, or so I've been told.

I was under that assumption NSW should have added that

Hi Zilla

I replaced mine with Gates Premo Flex www.industryupdate.com.au/products-details/belts-and-hoses/31089/premo-flex%c2%ae-hose a few weeks ago

I needed some in a hurry and it was the only hose of the size i needed that the local chandler had in stock but on reading the specs it looks ok

Hi Don, couple of quick questions regarding your Gate Premo Flex hose if you don't mind:

1) Does it contain natural rubber, or is it all-synthetic?

2) In the time you have had it installed, have you noticed that it has become slightly less flexible than when brand new?

Thanks

Hi Karsten

I am not sure about the natural or synthetic question but if you look at the link I posted it gives some specifications on it that might give you some idea

With the second question I only fitted it a couple of weeks ago and I haven't looked at it since (apart from a quick look to see that there were no leaks)

The original hose that I replaced (a grey coloured fuel hose that looked like outboard fuel hose , that was marked premium marine and dated 2009 from memory) was noticibly harder at the ends than in the middle
