I would like the control panel if you do for a price wish it was down here Bubble you might have a bidding war Ha Ha Its a early one it has the 6 bolt water pump thrust plate
Very tempting to buy as a spare engine however I think it would be too tall for my engine space.
If that engine was workshopped to perfect running condition, fitted to a yacht, appropriate spares stocked on board and well maintained and used, I am sure it would be good for another 50 years.
Second Wind has a Yanmar 2QM 15 fitted which has performed very well on our trip north. We had to run it all the way from Lake Macquarie to Bundaberg due to the East Australian Current and contrary winds. It's wet elbow, very similar to that one, needed welding repair at Coff's Harbour.
That area of my engine needs more attention but it seems to have a strong heart and pushes her along at 6 knots at 2300 RPM. That keeps me happy.
If I ever do replace it, a three cylinder engine is what will be going in there. Either a Yanmar 3 GM 30 or a Diecon marinized Kubota.
