For those of you who may have missed this item on last nights news.

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2593407/British-sailor-Andrew-Taylor-knocked-yacht-70ft-wave-rescued-alive-spending-90-MINUTES-freezing-stormy-Pacific-seas.html

Good article and video of this rescue.

It is now reported that nothing broke, the sailor was not clipped on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This article shows just how lucky you can be more than anything else. Notice how difficult it is to see the man in the water!

Isn't technology wonderful.

A very fortunate man and a lesson for us all. Reminds me of the Bullimore rescue. Now that was close to a miracle that Tony survived !

It's pretty silly of him if he was not clipped in, or not tethered properly to a strong point. Lucky guy indeed...

If you read the whole story you will see that he was attatched to the boat and his lifeline snapped when he was washed overboard. It has happened before.

In the follow up story it was revealed that he was not clipped on. There was some concern on the Pommie forums about the brand of equipment used and they had to come clean!

I doubt he will forget to teather himself again.
