Hmm...thats funny. No posts actually related to anything practical. But lots about bullsh!t topics in open conversation. And he pops up with having a go at southace? I got my suspicions here.

Forgot to add: I'm not much of a sailor.

Only offshore passage was crewing on a delivery from Durban to Cape Town in the 70's on a Piver tri, about 1800 nm non-stop with some terrifying weather on the way. Briefly co-owned a 27' Wharram, which didn't end well. The last 3 decades, daysailing/weekends on OPBs.

Between 1974-77 I did around 40-45,000 nm as a cook/cook's assistant on cargo ships, the Atlantic run from Cape Town to Southampton and Rotterdam. Many of these were old tubs on their last runs before going to Taiwan for scrap, crewed by the dregs and rejects. Lots of great stories.

So I'm no expert, but I love being at sea.
