Thanks

I am a member. CCYC has limited dry storage only. There is a waiting list. Finally within a month, new club
house is finished and a few new spots will be created.
I guess after 12 month waiting, I get one.
Piles in middle of the harbour are sold to private enterprise , no chance there.
Private Rosslyn Bay marina charging like........,
Considering as a sailing location from nice anchorages Hummocky, Humpy, Great K,North K, Isl,
Keppel , Corio, Pearl, Bays, and all the way to Thirsty Sound - Stanage Bay and Percy Isl.
it's a nice place.

The Keppels are a great area for cruising but when it comes to parking your yacht while you do the necessaries of life the costs there are outrageous.
You need to be making the big bucks at the mines to afford it.
Unless you have very shoal draught there are no anchorages mainland side and therefore no Bum's Bay and the nearest alternative is the town reach of the Fitzroy River in Rockhampton which is as hot as hell in summer and once you are in there you might never leave because it is such a drama to get in and out of there.
On the Queensland coast there few places that are economic to keep a yacht. Consider the marina at Nelly Bay on Magnetic Island. You may be pleasantly surprised.

Thanks Charriot, Cisco, I am looking to find out more on the CCYC as I have applied for the caretakers spot there and is always good to know about the organisation prior to the questions (if they do eventually happen?) at an interview.
Usual caveat's, I think I have all the requirements they advertised for and a lot more to bring to the club.
From the limited info available, seems to be a very small club with only a small fleet but that in itself does give the opportunity for things to grow.

Now we know. I am next door of the club and a member, didn't know
club after caretaker. Met a few old members, ask them about club meetings.
We don't go any more, what you can hear is just arguing.
Your info is sort of right. Guess they have a bit mentality problem.
Well, good luck, to get a job plus more luck if you get it.

From what I have seen the CCYC is mostly a trailer sailer club.

Must be you, I guess, shake your hand when that seachange happen.
Rosslyn Bay hosting SAREX this Saturday. Update on all new packages for trainings and
allocation responsibilities . All have changed from maritime all the way to last Coast Guard member.
It looks like, that new packages for training from competent to master5 are clearer and strait forward.
We have here people from Cambera here, to introduce new changes in coordination too.
New packages are set , and in place by the end of the year.

:-( unfortunately not, I was just told I was number 2.... job went to a 'local' from Gladstone who was possibly not as suitable but more convenient.
Bugger, it looked like a great opportunity to build up a great club and work base in a pretty under serviced area.

I find locals are scared of any changes, no highrise development, Keppel resort
Is close over 10 years and blocking any reasonable re opening .
30 years planning of new hospital, a few year ago finally open.
What a hospital , no X-ray , no ultrasound , they still call it hospital.
VENI....VIDI....VICI...not happening, maybe next time, somewhere else.
