I have just removed the cutless bearings and they seem to be some kind of compressed fibre material, but there is no name or any identification marks that I can see. I wonder if someone might know what sort of material it is and better still where to get some new ones. My ones are 48 mm o/d, 32mm i/d and are 150mm long.
Any thoughts will be greatly appreciated.

It is most likely a Tufnol bearing or a phenolic resin type, very common.

It may also be custom made and not an off the shelf part

Will probably be oversized and you will need to get it turned down to the ID of your stern tube.
If not turned down on a lathe you will never get it aligned.

Best fixed in place with an industrial grade aradite
