Can anyone here rave about a good company that makes cruising chutes to order?

After looking at dealing direct with Far East Sails, I decided pay bit extra and go through Galatea (Bull Sails) in VIC And let him handle everything (including taking responsibility for quality, correctness, etc).
Was a good decision with a good outcome - my gennaker is great.

Allan

Believe very much in supporting the local sailmaker. Also much easier to walk in and discuss things than try to deal with phones and emails

Am in process of entire new wardrobe for my boat, ..... am dealing locally and no "mates rates" or even "dads rates" .... just want a good product that I know will fit first time and if need things need to changed they are not far away.

Besides, keeps another dying trade around for a little longer.

There are very few sails not made overseas. Check out China sails and look for your local sailmakers patch.

I have one of Galatea's headsails and the quality is impressive.

Bought an off the shelf Taskers MPS through these guys, great service and delivered directly in about 2 weeks. I was heading to Phuket and contacted Taskers direct for a pick up price, it was cheaper using the Aus agent.

Starting to look around for new Jib and Main, would prefer to go local and the falling dollar may just help.

@ Ramona ..... I can and would guarantee that the sails I get from my local sailmaker are made here in AUSTRALIA.

why, my sailmaker is my son and he has resisted, as his the loft owner buying sails from OS. Every sail is made in Adelaide. At present Rambler 88's mainsail is lying on their floor .... but then you get what you pay for, If i do pay a little extra so be it but also know i can walk into the loft and discuss what the sail is or not doing whenever I want.

Again, support them or lose them, sad part is we are losing them because as a nation we want cheap.
