None of the Northshore 38's finished the 1998 race, they all retired.

Yes I presume that they have the optional lead boot fitted. I will ask but I might not get a reply since they are at sea at the moment

Interesting the RSHYR page shows the draft as 2.0m but their IRC certificate shows it as 1.89m and the ORCI as 1.941m - must be a rounding error

more than likely due to bad measuring our mainsail hoist height was out by 600 mm plus water lines wrong

Double handed racing is getting more and more popular in Europe. There are new races and designs coming out every year. As the Hobart is the biggest offshore race down there it was only a matter of time.
There was a lot of arguing about them using autopilots so they should not be eligible for the overall win, or even be allowed. I guess they lost.
There was the largest number ever of double handed boats in the Fastnet last time.
It has been discussed already on here I think.
There is a lot of arguing going on and I think that's why there are so many new races for the double handed class in Europe.

Thanks for posting, Madmouse. I had not seen that particular account. I think I will get the last words spoken in the documentary inscribed on a plaque and have this mounted on the bulkhead.
