Hi all,
I'm heading off to SE Asia this year and need a new chart card for my plotter.
Can anyone tell me if the 'Mega Wide' charts are any good at finer details, as in, getting into bays and anchorages or do I have to have the standard chart?
Basically the Mega wide covers 3 of the std charts and hence quite a saving when buying but if it's too broad then it will be useless (apart from passage making)
Advice would be appreciated, I have a Furuno GP7000 with C-MapNT (SD)

Cheers Quentin

Quentin,
Think about stepping up to a PC charting system such as Seaclear2 or Open CPN. Even if you only use it for planning purposes.

Charts for your proposed trip here;

The answer appears to be no. Read the thread here about Mega wide charts etc and the lack of detail.

Thanks for your advice & time Ramona,
I will have a PC as backup but I'm wanting to use my plotter most. It's right at the helm and is very reliable.
Fair winds to all!
