The boatyard have started the repair process using their insurance.
The insurance company have approved the engine being pulled apart to assess damage. As petrol damage in diesel engines is usually hidden, e.g. injection pump parts and seals and injector problems, this could be interesting.
Once the engine damage has been assessed by the appointed mechanic the insurance company appoint an assessor. He then assesses the damage and repair options.
If they say it is an engine replacement then they will want a contribution to replace the old with new. Although I had a perfectly serviceable low hours engine it was old and I am willing to make a contribution to have a new engine.
Either way this is looking like it will be painful.
I doubt, with Christmas in the way, I'll have the boat going again until late summer.
